Located in Gateshead, we are a mobile and clinic based Occupational Therapy Service. We have been supporting children , adolescents, adults and families in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region, since 2019. We aim to ensure everyone embraces life and reaches their full potential!
Occupational Therapy enables us to participate in the things we need and want to do in life.
Embrace Living Therapies provides Mental Health Occupational Therapy service for children (4+) and adolescents including assessment, intervention and consultation. We aim to identify meaningful client and family centred goals and work together to reach them!
We have a vast range of experience in child, adolescent and adult mental health and value a holistic approach to therapy, understanding the importance of mental health and emotional well-being.
We offer Occupational Therapy assessments across the lifespan in which we meet with the Consumer and family to discuss the areas of concern and identify treatment goals.
As a part of this process we complete standardised and non standardised assessments based on an individual and families need to inform our practice. We understand the importance of family and community for recovery and use a family based approach.
We aim to assess consumers participation and functioning in activities of daily living and collaboratively identify client centred goals.
Our intervention focus is to identify areas where participation is challenging and support consumers and families to understand impact of function and build skills that enables improved performance and participation in these activities across different environments.
The overall aim is to increase consumers independence and to build capacity within the home , school and or community in relation to self care, leisure, play, learning and or social participation.

Hasia has over 10 years experience as an Occupational Therapist working in Australia and the UK. Hasia Graduated from Newcaste University in 2010. Hasia specialises in Child and Adolescent mental health, Adult mental health and Paediatrics. Hasia has worked in both the public and private sector inpatient, community, clinic and school settings.
Hasia has worked across a range of settings working with consumers with a range of diagnosis including attachment disorders, anxiety disorder, depression, Post traumatic Stress disorder, schizophrenia, Bi-ploar disorder, Personality Disorder, Attention deficit disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific learning Disorder, Language processing disorder, Sensory Processing disorder, Global developmental delay, developmental coordination disorder and many more.
Hasia has completed training in trauma informed care, sensory integration (SI Network UK &Ireland), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) DIR Floortime, Alert Program, Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance (COOP), Exploring Together, Therapeutic Listening, Theraplay, and Sensory Processing Disorder through the STAR institute.
Hasia's areas of interest include anxiety, behavioural challenges, regulation, sensory processing challenges, she enjoys working with families to build their capacity and believes family and community are vital part of the therapy process.
